EP.112 Eleng Luluan, A Path Through Memory |Inside the Arts
Eleng Luluan, A Path Through Memory A decision to leave home in search of the self became a journey that gently led the heart back. Eleng Luluan, her Rukai name, signifies her distinguished lineage within a chieftain family. This traditional heritage, while once a heavy burden she longed to escape from, has also remained a deep emotional source and wellspring of her creative inspiration. Eleng Luluan, known for her profound dialogue with materials and space, hails from the beautiful and mysterious Kucapungane (舊好茶) village. The natural surroundings—every blade of grass and leaf—have quietly constructed her inner world of creation. Her continual flow of inspiration takes form in large-scale installations across Taiwan and internationally, inviting people to touch, enter, and directly experience the vibrations and stillness shared between materials and nature. Drawing inspiration from fragments of memory and the flow of life, and finding healing in the interweaving of nature and culture, Eleng Luluan walks the path of art—a path that is also her journey home.
