「性蕭條」、「戀愛降級」、「低慾望社會」是近年來討論親密關係繞不開的詞彙。當下的年輕人，正在對親密關係失去興趣？香港大學教授吳存存，卻對這普遍的直覺保持懷疑。 20世紀末，吳存存便開始研究中國的性愛與文史。她認為，慾望絕對不會消失，只是流向了不同的出口。 5月，一條來到南丫島拜訪吳存存。 "Sexual recession," "relationship downgrade," and "low-desire society" have become unavoidable terms in recent discussions about intimate relationships. The underlying implication is clear: today's young people are losing interest in intimacy. Wu Cuncun, a professor at the University of Hong Kong, however, remains skeptical of this widespread assumption. Since the late 20th century, Wu has been researching sex, love, and Chinese literature and history. She argues that desire never truly disappears—it simply flows into different outlets. 社會學家趙鼎新73歲了，每天仍工作十幾個小時。他只有小學學歷，24歲自學考上復旦生物系，37歲棄理從文，後來成為芝加哥大學終身教授。 2018年他提前回國，在浙大經歷了一次改革的「挫折」……他從不求安穩：「人生沒有意義，所以我要把它玩得更好」。 At 73, sociologist Zhao Dingxin still works over a dozen hours a day. With only a primary school education, he self-studied his way into Fudan University's biology department at 24, switched to the humanities at 37, and later became a tenured professor at the University of Chicago. In 2018, he returned to China to reform the sociology department at Zhejiang University — a bold experiment that ended with his resignation. 重慶女孩改400m²爛尾樓的家，手搓全屋細節，越住越上癮 Chongqing Woman Transforms 400-m² Ruin

90後的重慶女孩丹麒，家位於市中心一個老社區，但看她的居家生活照，還以為她在摩洛哥或南法小鎮度假。房子是3年前買的，廢墟多年，現場堪比廢墟，但她相中了窗外的自然景緻，決定買房，從廢墟建造自己的空間。設計師袁新智，是一起改造的重要幫手。他們把整棟房子的風景面、光照面盡可能地打開，各種手搓的細節，盡可能還原出一種居住的原始感。 7月，一條來到重慶拜訪丹麒的家。 Danqi, a post-90s Chongqing native, lives in an old neighborhood right in the city center. But if you look at her daily life photos, you'd think she was vacationing in Morocco or a village in the South of France. She bought the place three years ago — it had been abandoned for years and looked more like a ruin — but she was drawn to the natural scenery outside the windows, so she decided to buy it and build her own space from the rubble. Designer Yuan Xinzhi was a key partner in the renovation. Together, they opened up the views and natural light as much as possible throughout the house, and hand-finished countless details to bring back a raw, primitive sense of living. 2023年11月27日，正在英國修讀當代藝術的博士生楊淏關掉了手機，並把手機留在家中，從山西太原出發，踏上了為期134天環遊中國的旅程。他遇到各種尷尬和危險大到現金用完、無法取現，幾乎吃不到飯，小到在公廁因為無法掃碼而不能取紙。但幾乎每次，他都在陌生人的幫助下平安度過。他說，在關機的日子裡，體驗到了“專注、真實的人際連結、對時間和身體的重新感知”，這是最珍貴的禮物。 7月，一條在山西見到楊淏。 On November 27, 2023, Yang Hao, a PhD student in contemporary art studying in the UK, turned off his phone, left it at home, and set off from Taiyuan, Shanxi, on a 134-day journey around China. He ran into all kinds of awkward and even perilous situations — from running out of cash with no way to withdraw more, almost unable to buy food, to not being able to scan a QR code for toilet paper in a public restroom. But nearly every time, he got through it safely with the help of strangers. He says that during those offline days, he experienced "focus, real human connection, and a renewed awareness of time and his own body" — and that these were the most precious gifts. 山西女兒女婿為全家人造房：7層樓，冬暖夏涼太愜意 Shanxi Couple Build an Unconventional Brick House

範久江和翟文婷是一對青年建築師夫妻，2023年底開始，應翟父翟母的心願，他們回到山西運城老家，為全家八口人團聚建造一棟鄉村住宅。從外面看，這棟房子只是一棟樸素的清水紅磚房，走進內部卻別有洞天：所有的房間都像是從柱子上生長出來一樣，屋子裡沒有完全封閉的樓層和房間，而是四通八達，錯動出七層空間。 6月，一條拜訪了稷山翟宅，和範久江、翟文婷聊了聊背後的建造故事和家族記憶。 Fan Jiujiang and Zhai Wenting are a young architect couple. Starting in late 2023, at the request of Zhai's parents, they returned to their hometown in Yuncheng, Shanxi, to build a rural house where all eight family members can gather together. From the outside, it looks like a modest exposed‑brick red house, but inside it opens up into a surprising space: all the rooms seem to grow out of the main columns, with no fully enclosed floors or rooms. Instead, the layout flows in every direction, staggered into seven levels.
