施肥不施肥?—植物的糧食、人類的糧食與環境的永續|蔡宜芳院士

主講人:蔡宜芳院士(本院分子生物研究所特聘研究員) 主持人:唐堂副院長 時 間:2026年2月24日(星期二)晚上7時至8時30分 地點:本院學術活動中心2樓第1會議室 演講摘要 肥料的使用是綠色(農業)革命得以成功的重要因素之一,讓人類免於饑荒,造就世界人口在1950年之後得以急速增加的契機。氮是肥料中最主要的成分,當前大多數農作物品種的氮利用效率很低,僅有一半甚至是三分之一的氮肥真正被農作物吸收利用,殘留在土壤中的氮肥會造成嚴重的環境問題,有人估算每一塊錢的氮肥,要用四塊錢來處理氮肥所引起的環境問題。如何提升氮利用效率是永續農業中重要的課題。我們研究團隊從基礎科學入手,深入瞭解植物如何吸收硝酸鹽,如何將硝酸鹽送到各個部位做最佳的利用,如何控管硝酸鹽的分布,如何偵測硝酸鹽的多寡以做出最佳的準備及因應之道。這些基礎研究的新發現,改寫教科書的理論之外,也尋獲改進水稻氮利用效率的新策略。 講者簡介 蔡宜芳博士畢業於臺灣大學植物學研究所,於1990年獲得美國卡內基美隆大學生物系博士。而後曾於美國加州大學聖地牙哥分校從事博士後研究工作,並於1994年加入中央研究院分子生物研究所,深耕植物科學研究三十餘年,現為特聘研究員,並兼任陽明交通大學與臺灣大學教授。 蔡博士為享譽國際的植物分子生物學家,研究領域包括硝酸鹽運送與感應傳遞如何影響植物生理、植物發育、氮利用效率等。她發現植物的第一個硝酸鹽轉運蛋白,提出植物以 transceptor 偵測土壤養分變化的新機制,並改寫教科書中關於硝酸鹽輸送的既有理論。此外,她將基礎研究推向應用端,改進農作物的氮利用效率,減緩氮肥對環境的危害,提供農業永續發展的新策略。 蔡博士的學術成就深受國內外肯定,曾榮獲中央研究院年輕學者研究著作獎(2000)、國科會傑出獎(2003、2010)、教育部學術獎(2013)、臺灣傑出女科學家獎(2018)等重要獎項。她亦當選美國國家科學院(NAS)國際院士(2021)、中央研究院第34屆院士(2024),以及世界科學院(TWAS)院士(2026),其學術貢獻與國際影響力廣受肯定。 #知識饗宴 #科普演講 #永續農業 #氮利用效率 #綠色革命 #環境保護 #農業科技 #水稻研究 #植物營養 #硝酸鹽吸收 #SustainableAgriculture #NitrogenUseEfficiency #GreenRevolution #EnvironmentalSustainability #AgriTech #RiceResearch #PlantNutrition #NitrateUptake (關鍵字由AI生成)

Roberts (1993 Nobel Laureate in Physiology or Medicine) Host: Dr. James Liao, President of Academia Sinica Time: 14:00 ~, Thursday, February 5, 2026 Venue: Auditorium B1C, Institute of Biomedical Sciences, Academia Sinica When Monsanto first attempted to introduce GMO seeds into Europe, it encountered strong opposition from Green parties and their political allies, who feared that American agribusiness was poised to take control of Europe’s food supply. This opposition sparked a large-scale campaign not against the true target, Monsanto itself, but against a surrogate target: GMOs. Dr. Roberts argues that by deliberately ignoring the scientific evidence underlying GMOs and by portraying exaggerated and frightening scenarios about their potential dangers, political motivations have slowed the widespread adoption of these technologies—often to the detriment of the developing world. Increased productivity of nutritious crops can help alleviate hunger and malnutrition, and can also contribute to mitigating climate change by removing CO₂ and methane from the atmosphere. #TAIWAN_BRIDGES #NobelLaureate #DrSirRichardJRoberts #GMO #AgriculturalInnovation
